I was originally going to write a preview of game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New York Jets this coming weekend, but let’s face it, if the Steelers can’t beat the hapless Jets, they don’t deserve to a be second seed in the playoffs.

Instead, let’s shine the spotlight on the lovely Gina G. of the New York Jets Flight Crew. The Jets don’t technically have cheerleaders, but the flight crew does carry flags, stand on the side of the field, do dances, and generally cheer the team on. Just don’t call them cheerleaders. Come to think of it, although the Rooneys have said the Steelers will never have cheerleaders, they haven’t ruled out a flag team or a dance team. I think I smell a technicality.

Gina G. says that the hardest part of being a flight crew member is not getting blown over by the wind when you’re carrying the flag. Gina’s also a regular NFL veteran, having performed at the Pro Bowl in 2000. This means that she’s on track to have a longer and more successful NFL career than any of the Jets starting quarterbacks over the past ten years!
