That’s what I call Feelin’ Kinda Sunday.  Why aren’t these girls in those NFL ads?  I’d rather see them than a bunch of sad lonely fantasy football nerds crying about their lack of success. That’s President Barack Obama stating his choice for the winner of Super Bowl XLIII. This shouldn’t be surprising considering Pittsburgh Steelers owner Dan Rooney’s tremendous support during the election. Even without that support, I doubt he’d want to support a team from a state that didn’t even vote for him. Nice pick, Arizona.

Argue it if you will but the Steelers will be the greatest franchise in NFL football history if they win Super Bowl XLIII. Even if they don’t come out of Tampa Bay with a win, which is unlikely according to the BetUS oddsmakers who have listed the orange and black as -7.5 point favorites, they still could be adorned with this title. I tried to be nice. Phoenix mayor Phil Gordon, with an assist from the Arizona Cardinal’s goofy looking mascot, decided the best way to pump up a crowd of diehard Cardinal supporters, all twelve of them, was to disgrace the Terrible Towel. During the San Diego Chargers’ playoff victory a few weeks back, ABC cut to a shot of their cheerleaders at every opportunity.  Good move, ABC.  When the Dallas Cowboys play, FOX makes sure to get their overrated yet still fetching Cowgirls on camera whenever a player so much as downs a punt.  The Philadelphia Eagle‘s home for wayward strippers and Tennessee‘s obviously silicone enhanced squads also enjoy plenty of air time whenever their teams play. Every year, one of the most eagerly anticipated aspects of the Super Bowl are the commercials. It’s probably the only time people actually look forward to ad breaks. The Super Bowl is by far the most bet on sporting event of the year.  From straight up wagers made on the outcome to score grids passed out in the office, everybody gets in on the action.  Even politicians enjoy making friendly bets. With Super Bowl XLIII exactly one week away, Steeler hysteria has reached a fever pitch.  There are signs, posters, banners, and flags as far as the eye can see.  You can’t throw a rock two feet without hitting someone wearing an item of Steeler paraphernalia.  Not that I encourage the throwing of rocks at anybody except tourists from Philadelphia.
