Don't get me wrong, Hines definitely made a contribution in the game. But overall, he wasn't much of a factor. Just suiting up with that injury, though, deserves massive respect.

As for Kordell, sure he had weaknesses. Ben has weaknesses, too. It's amazing how a couple Super Bowl wins make everything better. I'm not saying Kordell is better than Ben but I don't think it's fair to say he wasn't "good" either.

Only about 30 QBs have ever won a Super Bowl. So by that criteria, there are a lot of HOFers who sucked. I love the fact Steeler fans only care about championships but it really is unfair to people like Kordell.

As far as Hines, he made 2 clutch 3rd down catches (correct me if I'm wrong) in the Super Bowl that kept things rolling, but it looks like Santonio definitely picked up the slack.

I must say that I've waited a long time for a Steelers quarterback like Big Ben. All those years just agonizingly watching Malone, Brister, O'Donnell, Maddux, and Stewart (Did I forget a mediocre Steeler quarterback?) Sorry, Chris :) ...I know you liked Cordell, and he could make some amazing plays, but I just don't think he was able to see the field well enough and lacked accuracy. I may be wrong, but that's just how it appeared to me at the time. *sigh* Thank God for a good Steeler quarterback and receiver corps.

Sorry, Treeher. I haven't written about Hines because I thought everybody pretty much realized he was hurt much worse than was let on and that's why he was mostly useless during the game.

There's no mystery to it, Hines even confirmed in several interviews after the game that his injury was something people miss 6-8 weeks for and he was insane for trying to play in 2. I'll definitely post an update if any new information comes available but that's all there is to it so far.

Hey Chris, I've read tons of articles, but the mystery man in this Super Bowl is Hines Ward. Why hasn't anyone written an article about his relative absence in the game and the possibility that his injury was worse than the team and him let on?

No kidding, Todd. People act like being a Steeler fan is easy just because all's well that ends well. Little do they know how many times this season games we should've won easily turn into white knuckle thrillers because the Steelers always like to make things interesting.
