Jon, I also think Denver is shooting their wad early. I can’t help but think of Tenn last year, who ran through the regular season and then collapsed one-and-done in the playoffs. You can’t hide Kyle Orton forever.

However, on the off chance the Broncos do to us what the Titans did to the Steelers last year, I suggest stocking up on duct tape. It’s quite handy with insufferable roommates.

Cecil, I think you hit the nail on the head. Although we’ve played Denver in some big games (certainly more than we’ve played against Cincy/Cleve in the past decade), they just don’t inspire a passionate response among Steeler fans. I dunno what it is but they just aren’t “hateable.”

As a Denver resident, my life will become insufferable if the broncos beat the steelers. I will have to physically gag my roommates and lock them away somewhere.

That said, if the Steelers DON’T win, my redemption will be the same as it was in 05: Watching the broncos get steamrolled in Mile High Stadium during the playoffs.

Very good points as usual, Chris. Yes, I agree that our rivalry with Denver does get lost, but I think that there is more bad blood in the Pittsburgh-Baltimore or Pittsburgh-New England rivalries than Pittsburgh-Denver. When you look at a Steelers-Bengals game or Steelers-Ravens game you think,”Oo, that’s going to be a blood-bath.” I don’t think you get the same impression when we play Denver.
