That’s a great story, Cecil. I remember hearing about it but never thought to tie it into this post. Thanks for reminding us how DIEHARD (in this case, almost literally) some Steeler fans take these games.

And for the record, I think I had a few heart palpitations myself when Bus fumbled that ball.

My heart goes out to a Steelers fan who was watching the 2005 AFC Divisional playoff game between Pittsburgh and Indianapolis. When Jerome fumbled the ball at the one yard line, this man had a heart attack and was rushed to the hospital. The very first words out of his mouth when he came to were,” Who won the game?” After the doctor told him that the Steelers had held on, he was ready to cooperate.
