Eminem Clowns On Big Ben

AUTHOR: | IN: Uncategorized | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

The above video contains language that is NSFW.   Which stands for Not Safe For Work.  This differs from Ben Roethlisberger, who is merely Not Safe For Women. Marshall Mathers aka Slim Shady aka Eminem has gifted us all with his latest freestyle masterpiece.   Actually, I don’t mind Marshall.  Once you get past the whole wigger gimmick, he’s a pretty interesting artist.  I just liked him better when he wasn’t trying to be an actor or doing lame PR stunts for MTV.  Whatever happened to his hobby of planning to kill his ex-wife? Anyway, if you decide to click on that [...]

Big Ben Accepts Punishment, Issues Phony Statement

AUTHOR: | IN: Uncategorized | COMMENTS: 7 Comments

On Monday afternoon, disgraced Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger spoke for the first time since Commissioner Roger Goodell handed down his suspension. Well, spoke is a bit of an exaggeration. He actually emailed a phony and laughable statement to the press. Since I’m as sick of writing about this big goon as many of you are probably sick of reading, I’ll let this be my final word on his eight month rape spree which has left his reputation in ruins. ESPN on their OTL program recently did a piece on how Ben is viewed by his teammates.  I highly suggest [...]

Steelers Complete Draft Wrap-Up

AUTHOR: | IN: Uncategorized | COMMENTS: None Yet

With the 2010 NFL Draft officially in the books, let’s take a complete look at what the Pittsburgh Steelers accomplished during this three day marathon. Of course, the best thing to happen this weekend may not even be any of the players who were selected.  The Steelers sent one of their extra 5th round picks to Pittsburgh West Arizona in exchange for CB Bryant McFadden.  I can feel my blood pressure dropping as I type that sentence.  B-Mac, you may recall, was our starter during the 2008 Super Bowl run before leaving for a 2 year/$10 million contract with the [...]

Steelers Tab Receiver In Round Three

AUTHOR: | IN: Uncategorized | COMMENTS: None Yet

Are the Pittsburgh Steelers being secretly run by Al Davis? The Black and Gold tabbed wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders out of Southern Methodist University with their third round draft pick. Sanders is your prototypical burner, running a blistering 4.41 seconds in the 40. At only 5’11 and 186 pounds, he better blow by coverage even though he’s said to be very elusive with excellent leaping ability. This guy (I’ve been watching way too much John Gruden) is reminiscent of last year’s flier on Mike Wallace who, like Sanders, was also a mid-round slot guy with added value as a kick [...]

Steelers Surprise In Second Round

AUTHOR: | IN: Uncategorized | COMMENTS: None Yet

Are LaMarr Woodley and James Harrison good enough for you? Evidently, they aren’t good enough for the Pittsburgh Steelers.  In a shocking move, the Steelers used their lone second round pick on OLB Jason Worilds out of Virginia Tech.  Actually, Worilds played defensive end in college but like Mister Woodley, his size (6’1 and 254 pounds) projects him as a pass rushing OLB at the pro level.  Honestly, with all the holes this team has in the secondary and both lines, not to mention very little depth at running back and wide receiver, I have no idea how this pick [...]

Pittsburgh Steelers Pounce On Pouncey

AUTHOR: | IN: Uncategorized | COMMENTS: None Yet

Steeler Football lives! In the grand tradition of legendary centers Mike Webster and Dermontti Dawson, the Pittsburgh Steelers have finally addressed some of their offensive line issues by selecting University of Florida product Maurkice Pouncey with their first round draft pick. Pouncey, 6’4 and 305 pounds, is a rare find.   A first round caliber lineman who projects as a center at the NFL level.  Pouncey is an excellent athlete who gets a strong push in the running game while also being nimble enough to pull out on trap plays.  He’s also good at keeping his leverage and getting off [...]

To Trade Or Not To Trade Ben Roethlisberger

AUTHOR: | IN: Uncategorized | COMMENTS: None Yet

Ah, Mel. May your hair remain forever untouched by the ravages of time. Or a stiff breeze. With that out of the way, let’s turn our attention to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Obviously, the big news of the day is what the team does with disgraced quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. Rumors have been flying all over the place that the Steeler are actively shopping Pig Ben. Jason La Canfora at NFL Network says only two teams have been approached and only the Raiders have shown interest. Meanwhile, ESPN’s Adam Schefter says pretty much every team drafting in the top 10 has been [...]

Big Ben Down…And Possibly Out

AUTHOR: | IN: Uncategorized | COMMENTS: 7 Comments

And things just got VERY interesting. Courtesy of ESPN’s Chris Mortenson and Adam Schefter (who is usually very accurate on his information), they have learned that Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will be suspended between 4 and 6 games next season. The suspension will be a MINIMUM of 4 games. If he doesn’t agree to a series of conditions such as counseling and so forth, he’ll be slapped with the full 6 games. EDIT:   It’s official. Per NFL.com, commissioner Roger Goodell has handed down a six game suspension that may be reduced to four if he complies totally with [...]

Steelers Have “Zero Tolerance,” Bridge To Sell

AUTHOR: | IN: Uncategorized | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

On the Pittsburgh Steelers‘ first day of Organized Team Activities (OTAs), it appears the law was laid down by…   Somebody. In this article, Willie Colon, the guy who “saw nothing” while partying with Ben Roethlisberger down in Georgia, says the team was informed of a “zero tolerance” policy from this point forward.  When asked about it, head coach Mike Tomlin said that he had never uttered those words.  So who did?  Ambassador Rooney?  Art Rooney II?   Kevin Colbert?  Dr. Phil? If Tomlin didn’t address his team, who did?  And shouldn’t your head coach be showing at least a smidge of [...]

NPC’s Mock Draft of Doom

AUTHOR: | IN: Uncategorized | COMMENTS: None Yet

With the NFL Draft a mere three days away, I thought I’d take a stab at predicting how things will fall.  I fill out my NCAA Tournament brackets every year so being horrifically bad at making predictions has never stopped me before!   So don’t expect in-depth analysis on the level of my personal hero, Mel Kiper Jr., but rather accept this humble offering as food for thought. While you’re in a mock drafty sort of mood, check out CBS Sports.com by clicking here and take a look at a live mock draft I will be participating in alongside my [...]
