Pittsburgh Steelers Nightcap: Did Someone Say Fantasy?

facebooktwitterreddit

I really need to start rethinking some of these post titles….

Anyways, starting next week, the staff of NPC will be conducting a Fantasy Football outlook to help you or make you scream in agony over your fantasy football league’s draft.  Starting on Monday, each member will take a fantasy position and break it down across the league – who to pick, who shows promise, who to avoid like the plague.  We hope to have some fun with this and hope that all of you throw in your two cents as to who will be a fantasy stud this season – and I’m not talkin’ about Fabio.

Which got me thinking – about football, not Fabio – about who on the Steelers could really be a fantasy stud this year.  It seems like for quite some time that there isn’t that huge ‘point getter’ from the Steelers roster.  Sure, their defense dominates like no other, but there are games when even though the score may be 17-3 (in favor of the Steelers) that the defense scores little to no points on a fantasy team – trust me, I’ve been drafting them for four years now.

I’ve drafted Ward in the past.  He gets decent numbers over the course of the season.  But I always seem to get spanked week in and week out I have at least one or two guys that fail to put up anything over 2 or 3 points.  And, sometimes those guys are Steelers.  So who’s the Steelers’ fantasy stud this year?  Will it be Mike ‘2k’ Wallace?  Big Ben?  Mendenhall?  Dare I say Cotchery or even Antonio Brown?  Is there anyone from the Steelers roster with whom anyone will be vying to gobble up in that first round?

You’ll get your fill of what we have to say soon enough.  And maybe one of our lists will include a Steeler or two.  Stay tuned and throw in your two cents…
