@RickHarmon I couldn't agree with you more on specific points Rick. Dalton was less than stellar in the first matchup and has played against weak competition all season. That pass to Green was a dying quail and despite the media's fluffing of Dalton we all know that he was the reason they lost that day. 15/30 is not going to cut it in Cincy. during a must-win game. He played even worse at Baltimore, and despite the constant love for his stats from that game, his mistakes cost the Bengals dearly.

I wouldn't go so far as to say Cincinnati isn't a threat though. Cincinnati is still a threat to run the ball however as Benson and Scott gashed the Steelers in their last matchup. But as long as they are held to mediocre days we shouldn't worry, because as it was illustrated in both the Pittsburgh and Baltimore games, Andy Dalton can't carry the load just yet and has shown a propensity for late-game Rookie mistakes.

Loved what you said about Arians probably the most. Too many points have been left on the board during his tenure (along with the questionable play calling) and it is my dream that he seeks employment elsewhere. His play-calling allows inferior opposition to stay in games and take advantage of LeBeau's super-lax zone strategy (when they have a lead, not their Base-D/Nickel Zone which is effective) to gobble up yards and points when stops are needed the most. If the Steelers had a competent O.C. with their Offensive weapons it would be an outright awesome sight.

Thank you for your comments, and please keep coming back to NPC.

i really dont see the big deal..ppl acting like Cincy outplayd Pitt last game,sure..Dalton playd ok for a rookie..but other then that HAIL mary eyes closed touchdown pass to Aj Green. which Troy and Ryan just lookd at the ball and eachother it wasent really close..and of corse Arians "prevent SCORING offence" in the second half and Laboes "saggy HOLES everywhere zone defence" allows teams to stick around ( Kansas City) nothin new to

Steeler fans. But let other ppl tell it Cincy is really a threat..really??Only a Bengal fan would find something good in a loss. I just read a Dolphins blog about Arians..the man hasent been consistant anywhere hes been..NFL OR COLLEGE,no wounder his game plan from week to week..quarter to quarter are so sperratic. I truely hope the Dolphions offer him a job at the end of the year, and he accepts.

Good post...I remember watching that game in my friend's living room. When that pass was completed, I remember thinking, "Oh, boy..here we go." I remember feeling like the game was a toss-up because the Bengals were pretty good with Palmer. I was initially relieved that he was out, as I knew we could beat Cincinnati without him. But there was also part of me that felt like the victory would have been more complete if he hadn't been taken out of the game.
