I appreciate you trying to make amends sir, but your attitude makes you no better than a hipster who thinks he's cooler because he had an iPhone before it was cool to have iPhones. STEELERNATION has spread far and wide over the 78 years of existence, as it should be. Everything you claim to love about your home town, should be something you want to share with the world, not something you want to hold your own, and stick your nose up at those that can't have it. I hope your additions to the site here have a more positve view of your readers, as if it weren't for the internet STEELERNATION wouldn't have grown at the rapid rate it has, the internet that now allows you to get your thoughts out to the rest of us. Just so you know, I lived in Pittsburgh as a child briefly, my father grew up there, my grandparents from Braddock, but my fahter entered the military after high school, so we lived in several locations. Where my address may not have always said Pittsburgh, there is a piece of my heart that cannot be replicated anywhere else, however Isley's does ship to anywhere in the US, and there are 3 wonderful locations of Primanti Bros. in Florida for a reason.

I appreciate your response, Kimmy. Really, I was not trying to slight any member of Steeler Nation. I am just a dude fortunate enough to have some blog space. I am a huge music fan. I love Black Sabbath. They are from Burmingham, England which is a Sister City to Pittsburgh. I have been told that no matter how much I dig the band that I should go spend some time in Burmingham to really experience the atmosphere that spawned the band. In my own clumsy, provincial, way I was trying to convey that sentiment about Western PA.

I have always been impressed by the Steeler fan base. The ones that travel to see the team and the ones that are fans living in their respective cities. I read an article years ago about Steelers fans living in San Diego. They were not transplants but loved the Steelers ever since the AFL/NFL merger when Pittsburgh moved over to the AFC. They appreciated the storied franchise helping to legitimize the new conference.

Aye carumba! I love your passion and where your heads at dude, but I would have never made those comments about fans who don't live in Western PA. Who do you think fills up the seats in San Diego, Tampa, Miami, Arizona, Detroit, etc.? It ain't all yinzers jumping on the turnpike for those away games. Remember this, it takes a very strong willed fan to always be the visitor in the stands rather than watching your team in the comfort of the home stadium.
