ESPN confirms this afternoon that Bruce Arians has agreed to become the next offensive coordinator for the Indianapolis Colts.
And just like that, Arians rides away his limp Red Zone offense and heads west to Indianapolis. It will be interesting to see how Arians fits into this organization. At first glance it appears that it will be a happy marriage between the pass happy Arians and the gunslinger Manning…. IF Manning is to stick around. Should Manning leave, Andrew Luck is in good hands with the former Quarterbacks coach.
I just pray that we don’t ‘swap’ OC’s. Bad idea. Bad.
Well I bid Arians well in his new role as OC for Indy. Maybe the players there can make the bubble screen work. I know this much – if Indy doesn’t produce the points it is accustomed to with Manning under center while Arians is calling the plays (hey how will that work for Manning???), they will continue to lose in big ways. It will also only reinforce that Rooney made the right decision – because if Manning can’t win ‘the big one’ under Arians’ system, what makes Steeler Nation think that Roethlisberger and the Steelers could?
The drama is still to continue to unfold for both organizations – Manning/Luck for the Colts and Coordinator X for the Steelers.
