@dbuzard Apparently, Art II didn’t like the media dictating his image to Steeler Nation, especially that “meddling” part. Can’t blame him for that. Other than Tomlin’s weekly press conference during the season, it’s rare to hear anything from the Steelers brass.

@SteelerChick how about that….. Rooney talks to the PG, Kevin Colbert was on The Fan yesterday. Both saying Tomlin picked Haley all by his lonesome. As Rooney said, “it February”. Well if they want to be quiet, then maybe they should start by being quiet….

Based on the article in today’s Post-Gazette (http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/12048/1210834-66.stm), I think the Rooneys and the entire Steelers organization are well-aware of how much the fans look forward to any news, especially during the offseason and especially now with all the talk about who’s staying and who’s going, Todd Haley, etc. What they don’t know, they make up. Thus, Art Rooney II felt compelled to speak.

Nice article Dave. Well played on the supposed “conversation” between Ben and Art. I for one am very interested to see how they slash the excess payroll. Even though they’ve restructured deals, they’re still 10 mil over the cap I think. Not sure who will go, but Hampton, Farrior, Foote, Kemoeatu, Ward, etc. all could end up leaving.
