StephanieT313:

Trading Mike would be nice, but there is almost no way it will happen at this point. Wallace will have no suitors because it is not worth it economically for any trading partner in the N.F.L. to pursue him. The other franchise would not only have to take on Wallace's remaining contract from this season, but also have sign him to a long term deal if they want him beyond the 2012 campaign. Plus, the franchise which signs would also have to reimburse the Steelers with a high Draft Pick, or Draft Picks as compensation. These teams which want him all understand the fact that they are better served by waiting for him to be a UFA after this upcoming season and trying to sign him then. That way the only thing they will have to give up is a hefty long-term deal instead of draft picks and the worry about signing him long term if he is acquired through a trade.

What will happen though, if Wallace does not sign long term with Pittsburgh and heads elsewhere is that the Steelers will get a 3rd Round compensatory pick in the 2014 Draft. Not bad when you consider that the initial investment in Wallace was a 3rd Round pick back in 2009, and the fact that Pittsburgh got him for probably the best seasons of his career.

TRADE HIM!!! Let him take his greed on the road, preferably to a horrible team. Then let him be sitting home watching his former teammates hoist the Lombardy!!!
