Should Steelers Sit Some Players Against The Chiefs?

It’s hard to consider and hopefully not seen as arrogant, but the Chiefs are really bad – so should the Steelers think about sitting more than just those who are injured?  The team will more than likely sit Antonio Brown, Troy Polamalu and Stevenson Sylvester.  Gilbert and Mendenhall had limited practices today.  Dwyer and Rainey had full practices.  But should the Steelers consider sitting them all?

Again, this is meant as no insult to the Chiefs.  It’s a bit absurd to sit players when a team is in the middle of competing against a tough AFC North division.  But that is also a prime reason to do so.  The Steelers face the Ratbirds (this IS meant as an insult) following the Monday night game against the Chiefs.  It’s another big and important matchup for these two rivals.  The Steelers have a chance to rest a bunch of guys and put themselves in a healthier (note I didn’t say ‘better’) position to outlast the Ravens a week later.  Maybe the should even consider playing some guys for only a half – like Ben, Pouncey, Harrison, Clark, etc.

Should the Steelers sit more players than those who need it?

True, the Griefs suck, but it’s not right to think the game’s over before we play it. I find it very unSteelerlike for you to do so and apologize to KC Cheeks fans everywhere, because this is not how we behave. Also, the Ravens suck. And the Patriots–they suck too.

A, ummm, ‘model’ citizen you are Cletus….

K, didn’t mean to be too serious, just a difference in paradigm: you say the Chiefs suck so bad we shouldn’t bother to play them with our real team coz we’re so super awesome–compared to the Chiefs (Personal Insult.) I say they suck coz, like the rest of the NFL, they ain’t on our team (Global Insult). Prolly a gen-gap miscomm. Sorry if I hurt your feelings. Raven tears are delicious.

The Steeler’s can’t afford to sit anybody against the chiefs. Lets face it Tomlin has proven since he was selected as head coach that he is incapable of getting the team prepared and up for a supposed lesser team. The results against oakland and the titians prove this beyond any shadow of a doubt.

Can’t argue too much with that, Carl. It’s a good point.
