Whenever Steeler fans see Ben Roethlisberger sidelined for an injury, we can’t help but cringe and just hope for the best with Charlie Batch. Don’t get me wrong, I think we all have faith in Batch, but he won’t be around forever. The Steelers took steps on Wednesday to help the QB situation and take some pressure off the solution coming directly from the draft, at least in the short term.
Adam Schefter and other via Twitter have reported that the Steelers and former Bengals backup QB Bruce Gradkowski have agreed to a three year deal. The Pittsburgh native visited in the morning, and a deal was struck just hours later. A deal will be inked pending a physical.
The Pittsburgh native will bring a little stability to that position while the team figures out what to do with Big Ben and a developing young QB for the long term. Here’s to hoping that we won’t need to see much of Gradkowski over those three years in his contract.
