Pittsburgh Steelers 2013 Schedule Announced

Football and Steeler fans can shift their football mania into the next gear because the NFL announced the 2013 season Thursday evening on the NFL Network.  As always, the red marker came out for my calendar to circle when the Ravens and Steelers will face off.  A big question for most fans – will those two face off early in the year like in 2011 when the lost in embarrassing fashion to the Ratbirds or will the NFL repeat the blunder of having them faceoff twice in three weeks like in 2012?  Well without further ado, here is the season schedule for the 2013 Pittsburgh Steelers

2013 schedule (All times ET)

Week 1: Sept. 8 TENNESSEE TITANS, 1 p.m.

Week 2: Sept. 16 at Cincinnati Bengals, 8:40 p.m.

Week 3: Sept. 22 CHICAGO BEARS, 8:30 p.m.

Week 4: Sept. 29 at Minnesota Vikings (Wembley Stadium, London), 1 p.m.

Week 5: Oct. 6 BYE

Week 6: Oct. 13 at New York Jets, 1 p.m.

Week 7: Oct. 20 BALTIMORE RAVENS, 4:25 p.m.

Week 8: Oct. 27 at Oakland Raiders, 4:05 p.m.

Week 9: Nov. 3 at New England Patriots, 4:25 p.m.

Week 10: Nov. 10 BUFFALO BILLS, 1 p.m.

Week 11: Nov. 17 DETROIT LIONS, 1 p.m.

Week 12: Nov. 24 at Cleveland Browns, 1 p.m.

Week 13: Nov. 28 at Baltimore Ravens, 8:30 p.m.

Week 14: Dec. 8 MIAMI DOLPHINS, 1 p.m.

Week 15: Dec. 15 CINCINNATI BENGALS, 8:30 p.m.

Week 16: Dec. 22 at Green Bay Packers, 4:25 p.m.

Week 17: Dec. 29 CLEVELAND BROWNS, 1 p.m.

Quite honestly, this schedule is one that I think helps this team in how they can ‘collect’ wins.  They really don’t have a difficult stretch of games.  A difficult stretch could be the Bears and then the trip across the pond to face the Vikings.  They have the Bye week following that, so there’s no chance of a jet lag jolt there.  Key games: Ravens at home in Week 7 and 13 (a healthy gap this year) and a reunion with Mike Wallace in Week 14 when the Steelers face the Dolphins at home.  I will be traveling to Lambeau for the Packers game and can’t wait for that one!

What do you think Steeler Nation?  See any weeks that are favorable?  Where does the team get screwed with the schedule?  How about that bye week?

The next gear will hit when the draft begins just one week from Thursday.  Can you just taste training camp yet?
