The Pittsburgh Steelers have posted a 2-9 record during their last 11 regular season games, and not much hope appears to be on the horizon for the proud franchise.
Their offensive line is a mess, their defense is being carved by the likes of Jake Locker and Matt Cassel, and the head coach looks like more of an incompetent buffoon every week when it comes to simple tasks like clock management.
Issues aside, the Steelers actually went through a similar stretch almost a decade and a half ago with Bill Cowher at the helm. I for one remember the last half of the 1999 season and the beginning of the 2000 campaign, especially since Pittsburgh posted a dismal 1-10 record during that 11 game span.
So with the Steelers’ current 2-9 stretch in mind, today I thought that I would reflect on that problematic period in the franchise’s history.
