As much of a “dumpster fire” as the 2013 Pittsburgh Steelers are at the moment, it is always nice to hear some positive news about the health of their players.

As most of you already know, Ramon Foster suffered a pectoral injury and Ben Roethlisberger suffered a partially dislocated finger on his passing hand on Sunday afternoon in London.

While Roethlsiberger stayed in the game, Foster had to leave, and many were left questioning how ready both players would be for Pittsburgh’s next game on October 13th against the New York Jets.

Thankfully, it appears like the Steelers’ starting quarterback and starting left guard will both be healthy enough for their game in 12 days in New Jersey according to the following tweets from Ed Bouchette of The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette:

The Steelers will definitely need Roethlisberger and Foster to play if they have any shot of breaking their four-game losing streak.

The offensive line is already a mess, and while Kelvin Beachum played adequately in Foster’s place last Sunday, the “Swiss army knife” might be needed to fill in at either of the tackle positions if Mike Adams or Marcus Gilbert are injured or play poorly.  Thus, Foster penciled in at left guard would be a huge plus for Pittsburgh.

I am not sure I need to explain why Roethlisberger’s absence would hurt this team, but let me just state that “Big Ben” on the sidelines would make one of the league’s least potent (17.3 points per game) offenses even more hapless.

Thankfully, it looks like Pittsburgh will have both players ready to contribute in two weeks.
