Four of Pittsburgh’s starters missed practice earlier today due to injury issues. According to Scott Brown of ESPN.com the following players were:

Foster and Woodley aren’t huge surprises, especially since they exited last Sunday’s game against the Bills in the second half. The absences of Keisel and Velasco are definite causes for concern though. Despite the fact that they are expected to play versus Detroit this weekend according to Brown, the Steelers can ill afford to have some of their most significant contributors in the offensive and defensive trenches hobbled for the upcoming game.

In addition to the four players I referenced above, Brown reported that these three players were limited participants in practice today for Pittsburgh:

Miller being limited is almost a given, especially when one considers that he is working his way back from his gruesome knee injury. I just hope that DeCastro, Beachum, and Gilbert are ready to play this weekend. Those three are Pittsburgh’s starting right guard, starting left tackle, and starting right tackle, and the Steelers are already thin along their offensive line to begin with.
