Ben Roethlisberger Still Laughing at Ian Rapoport

Almost two weeks ago Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reported that the Pittsburgh Steelers were supposedly interested in trading Ben Roethlisberger and other bits and pieces of information from supposed “sources.” Although much of “Steeler Nation” was swept into hysteria, Pittsburgh’s front office and Roethlisberger came out publicly and vehemently denied that report.

Of course, that didn’t stop Rapoport and his partner in crime Michael Silver from spreading more “Steelers vs. Ben” during the telecast of NFL Network’s Thursday Night Football game later that week. Their words however meant little to Roethlisberger, especially since “Big Ben” earned AFC Offensive Player of the Week honors for his incredible effort against the Detroit Lions only three days later.

In fact, Roethlisberger does not even appeared to be steamed at the rumor spreading tandem. On the contrary, Pittsburgh’s signal-caller is laughing “at them” not laughing “with them” according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk (via KDKA):

"[Jerricho Cotchery] asked me today what’s the new rumor this week, … so we’re always excited to see what Ian’s supposed to make up this week."

Now I don’t specialize in medicine or dermatology, but Rapoport might want to find himself some aloe vera for that burn! But seriously, it is nice to see that Roethlisberger is taking all of the recent rumor-spreading in stride. Moreover, it is even more awesome to see that “Big Ben” is playing his best football of the season at the moment.

But don’t worry, Mr. Rapoport. It isn’t just Roethlsiberger and his teammates who are laughing at you, it is all of “Steeler Nation” who is as well for your “Roethlisberger wants a trade” tweets.
