NPC’s Week 13 NFL Picks

Think you can pick winners better than the NPC staff?

Here we are on this day of giving thanks, the best football holiday other than college bowl season. It’s time to throw on your stretch pants, turn on the television, and ignore those signals to your brain saying that you’ve had too much to eat or drink.  Here at Nice Pick Cowher, we are not only a bunch of nerds who follow the Pittsburgh Steelers tirelessly, but we are also a bunch of nerds who follow the NFL tirelessly. Therefore we put our money (or maybe just pride) where our mouths are and make picks on every NFL game each week. We don’t mess around with point spreads or anything like that. Just straight up picks.

Everyone in Steeler Nation has probably planned their meals out in preparation for the Ratbird feast we’re hoping to have this evening. The 5-6 Steelers will face the 5-6 Ravens for the leg up on the AFC Wild Card playoff race. The Steelers are coming off of their first 3-game winning streak of the season and the Ratbirds mustered up enough energy to beat the Jets. I can’t think of anything else I’d like with my slice of pie than a good helping of Steelers vs. Ravens. Except maybe a second piece of pie. Good thing I can have both this year! The rest of the Thanksgiving menu includes the annual Packers vs. Lions game to see who Ndamukong Suh is going to kick in the junk this year and the Raiders will play the Cowboys for the traditional boring game of the day. For the weekend we get to see if Kansas City can rebound from back-to-back losses and defend their home turf against the Broncos and it will be interesting to see if New England can score a hundred points on that awful Texans team. The Monday night matchup features the Saints traveling to Seattle to try to battle for the No. 1 seed in the NFC.

Last week was brutal for picks. Any week that includes a tie will do that. Congratulations to Scott for taking home the Week 12 victory. Scott has now tied me for the overall lead and therefore must be destroyed. Our reader participant, Jenn, had a rough one getting only 2 winners last week but remains unchallenged by the rest of you slackers too scared to pick games of your own.
