Bob Labriola of Steelers Digest and the Pittsburgh Steelers’ official website shed some light on some team-related injury news earlier this afternoon:

While Emmanuel Sanders’ foot issue should be something to follow, the fact that Jerricho Cotchery has played so well would lessen the blow if Sanders is hobbled. Plus, we could get to see more of rookie Markus Wheaton on Sunday night if Pittsburgh’s number two receiver is unable to play.

With Kelvin Beachum, Marcus Gilbert and David DeCastro practicing in full, it looks like the Steelers will have their starting tackles available for Sunday’s game. Although I am stoked to see Beachum and DeCastro prepared to start, Gilbert’s performance last weekend against the Miami Dolphins left much to be desired. I hope that the leash is short on Gilbert and that the coaching staff does not hesitate to pull him in favor of the improving Mike Adams.

Ziggy Hood, who sat out practice yesterday, is probably set to start in Brett Keisel’s place once again against the Cincinnati Bengals. As far as the depth along their defensive line is concerned, Pittsburgh might need to start Al Woods and activate Hebron Fangupo if Steve McLendon is sidelined as well.

Troy Polamalu’s inability to practice for a second consecutive day is definitely worrisome. I just hope that Will Allen and Shamarko Thomas are able to pick up the slack in Polamalu’s absence if he is unable to play.
