The Pittsburgh Steelers playoff hopes are just about dashed after the lost last week to the Miami Dolphins.  They will try and pick themselves up and maybe a few pointers on how to suck less when they face the Cincinnati Bengals at Heinz Field.  Don’t read into it too much that I wrote “Bengals” instead of “Bungles” for the first time in over a decade.  I’m just having an off day.  Coverage begins at 7:00pm EST when Dan Patrick and his crew begin the Sunday Night Football broadcast.  Game time is slated for 7:30pm, and most Steeler fans are slated to leave with 8:50 left in the second quarter.  It’s a nationally televised game, so there’s no hiding this one.  The last time the Steelers were on prime time, it was Thanksgiving night.  Maybe we’ll see another sideline dance by Mike Tomlin to liven things up a bit.  I mean, if you’re going to miss the playoffs for the second year in a row, you might as well do it in a complete downward spiral of embarrassment.

As I said, it’s a Sunday Night Football in America game, so Steeler Nation will have to put up with the snooze inducing Al Michaels and the colorful Cris “I Hate The Letter H” Collinsworth.  On most days, I like Collinsworth.  There are occasions when I just want to take the team bus and drive him over with it.  I certainly will feel that way if he starts going off on tangents about Andy Dalton and how much he’s improved over the year and blah blah blah.  Maybe another interception by Troy Polamalu will shove a smelly black sock into that mouth of his.
