The Pittsburgh Steelers are in their second consecutive season of missing out on any chance to be in the Super Bowl.  Although, if you watch NFL.com’s “N ‘if’ L: What if the 2013 season looked different?” the Steelers would actually have been in the AFC Championship against the New England Patriots.  To dream is a gift…. or however the saying goes.  Even though our beloved Black & Gold are all sitting on their couches this Sunday to watch instead of partaking, it’s hard for any general fan of the NFL to get wrapped up in the frenzy.

I posted an article on Thursday that gave a rather assured prediction of the Denver Broncos Peyton Manning having a great game and torching the Seattle Seahawks defense for three touchdowns and only a single pick along his way of capturing the Lombardi Trophy and Super Bowl MVP.  Most folks have this game a tight one as the top offense faces the top defense of the league.  And while Richard Sherman may be the ‘best’ corner there is in the game today, there are far too many receiving weapons on the Broncos offense.  Pey Pey is incredibly smart, and he’s had two weeks to figure out the Seahawks defense.  So, unless Seattle is going to drastically change up their schemes, Manning will figure them out quickly and bury them.  Some might think that is a bold prediction, but it’s not as bold as it could be.

A bold prediction might be that Richard Sherman picks off Manning twice…. for two pick 6’s.  That’s bold.  Another bold prediction might be that Eric Decker will have all four of the Broncos TD’s and all of them will be over 50 yards.  That’s bold.  Another bold prediction might be that Pete Carroll can refrain from looking like a cracked out horse chewing gum while pacing the sidelines.  Now that’s really bold.

Do you have any bold predictions for this Sunday’s Super Bowl?
