Who is ready for the 2014 NFL Draft?

With the upcoming event in mind, I will publish a Pittsburgh Steelers-themed 2014 NFL Mock Draft on a weekly basis for those of you draft-hungry members of Steeler Nation.

So until the compensatory selections are handed out by the NFL, I will try project all six of Pittsburgh’s 2014 draft choices in the upcoming mocks while I also provide some analysis and information on each prospect:

@ Dominic – we’re probably going to get 3 comp picks this year. One for Wallace, Lewis and Mendenhall. If we were to get all 3 comp picks, what positions do you see us addressing? – its hard to say which player because we dont know which rounds the comp picks will be in.

Which is why I didn’t list the comp. picks in this mock draft. The positions I left out in this particular mock are running back (will need to replace one or more of three FA backs), inside linebacker (need developmental depth) and defensive end (just in case Arnfelt or N. Wiliams need competition).

Also, I think the Mendenhall & Gradkowski signings could cancel each other out. Plus, who knows if Goodell and the league will take a comp. pick away for the sideline tap-dance.
