Here are a few Pittsburgh Steelers related articles this morning to help propel you through your Thursday, Steelers Nation.
Mike Evans “fits perfectly”
According to Charles Davis of NFL.com, Mike Evans would be a perfect fit for the Steelers. He made this opinion public in an interview on KDKA yesterday morning. He also compared Evans to Plaxico Burress in his prime. The only question Davis has with Evans is his 40 time. He says that if Evans can run in the 4.4′s, that he will have no questions about him. He also says that another player the Steelers could look at with the fifteenth pick is Kelvin Benjamin. Oh God no. Please God no.
I don’t agree with this opinion in the slightest. The Steelers shouldn’t even think about taking an offensive player until their fourth pick in the draft. They have so many needs on defense that receiver should be an afterthought. I also feel like size is hugely overrated in the NFL. The Steelers predicate their offense off of small, quick, and fast receivers. Not big and bulky ones that have to contest for balls because they can’t get open. That’s just my two cents.
Jason Worilds and LaMarr Woodley?
According to Ed Bouchette of The Pittsburgh Post Gazette, the answer to that question is no. Most of this opinion is probably due to the fact that Jason Worilds said he would only return if he was guaranteed a starting job. If LaMarr Woodley is still on the roster come the beginning of next season, there is no doubt it will be as a starter. The same can be said for Worilds. There is no situation where I could imagine both Woodley and Worilds back next season. Let’s all just hope that it is Worilds that is back. The Steelers can’t let another budding young star get away from them via free agency.
