Pittsburgh Steelers Morning Huddle 2/27/14

While the past few weeks have been a bit dry for Steelers fans, the months leading up to the draft will be a lot more interesting.  Here are some articles to get you through your day.

Steelers Stock Report

One of my favorite Steelers draft writers, and favorite Steelers writers overall is Curt Popejoy.  His most recent article profiles 8 NFL draft prospects for the Steelers to keep their eye on, while giving them stock up or down grades.  All eight prospects are widely recognized as first round picks.  Notably two of them are wide receivers.  Anyone who knows my feelings on the Steelers draft needs knows that I don’t want a receiver that early.  He also fails to include Louis Nix in the article.  Nix has my vote for the Steelers first round pick.  Read the article and tell me what you think.

Woodley vs Worilds

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports joined 93.7 The Fan on Tuesday to share some of his insight on the Steelers offseason.  One of the issues discussed was whether Jason Worilds or LaMarr Woodley would be retuning this offseason.  In my opinion the Steelers should keep Worilds this offseason no matter what the cost is.  La Canfora thinks that Woodley will be the one returning and Worilds will be gone.  “There could be some other contending teams out there that say, you know what, this guy- leadership, everything else- you know, for one year, two years, let’s take a shot on him, see if he can help us get over the top,” La Canfora stated.  Let’s all hope that this isn’t the way it turns out.

Rooney Wants the N-Word Out

Ryan Clark has once again come out to the media about the happenings of the Steelers locker room.  This time about the use of the N-word in football.  Clark said that Dan Rooney was adamant that he wanted the N-word out of the Steelers locker room.  Clark has a habit of leaking the details of the Steelers locker room to the public.  To be honest, I don’t have much of a problem with him talking.  Back to the topic.  I think that the NFL is fighting a futile battle here.  As good of an idea as it is, I think it would be tough to enforce and not very successful.
