Here’s the latest news and rumors surrounding the Pittsburgh Steelers camp over the last few days!

C.J. Mosley to Pittsburgh

Dave Bryan of Steelers Depot reports that NFL media draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah has C.J. Mosley falling to the Steelers at the 15th pick. Personally, I don’t think Mosley will fall that low, and even if he did, I don’t think Pittsburgh will take him. I know they will really want to, but they have too many other inside linebackers on the roster and too many other pressing needs already on the defense, such as cornerback and safety. Mosley would be a great addition, but a luxury one that the Steelers don’t have. If they wanted an inside linebacker, they should have taken Alec Ogletree in last years draft.

Pouncey Extension

Dave Bryan of Steelers Depot reports today that Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce received an extension today, possibly setting the market value for centers, including AFC North centers Alex Mack and Maurkice Pouncey, both who’s contracts are expiring in the next two years. Dave Bryan agrees with me that an extension will get done, just not this offseason but in 2015 offseason. He also thinks that $4 million a year will get the job done, and that’s where we disagree. I think that would be a bargain and Pouncey will know it. I don’t think he will get Kelce money, but he will certainly demand higher than $4 million a year. Either way, get Pouncey resigned sometime.

Homecoming for Santonio?

Aaron Wilson of Yahoo Sports reports that former Steelers receiver Santonio Holmes will be released by the Jets. Some “experts” have Santonio returning to the Steelers, and I am here to tell you that they are ridiculous. First, there are already several young wideouts on the roster who show plenty of potential. Second, the only receiver the Steelers should be resigning this offseason should be Jerricho Cotchery, and I would say they prefer him over Santonio anyways. There has also been reports that the Steelers will select a tall wide receiver in the draft, and if they do, which I think they will, there will be no room for Santonio. Sorry Santonio, no homecoming back to Pittsburgh.
