Bell looking to improve in 2014
Teresa Varley of the Steelers website had a chat with Steelers RB Le’Veon Bell about how he plans to improve in his sophomore season in the NFL. He was understandably frustrated with how his rookie season began, missing the first few games for a foot injury sustained in the preseason but when he finally got his wheels on the ground for the Steelers he said he meshed well with the offensive line. Through that relationship with the line he was able to get the teams’ only 100+ yard rushing performance for 2013 with a 124-yard game against Green Bay, and he wants more.

Free agency primer
ESPN’s Scott Brown reviewed the Steelers moves so far pre-free agency and previewed what Steeler Nation can expect in the coming weeks. Not surprisingly, Brown warns that WR Emmanuel Sanders is likely to command more money than the Steelers would be willing to spend but he suggests that they will come to terms with Jerricho Cotchery. He also suggests the idea the Steelers will look elsewhere in free agency to fill some holes on the team. He named DE Red Bryant, DT Paul Soliai, and CB Tarell Brown as free agents whom the Steelers might target.
Antonio Brown Restructures
The Steelers saved some more cap space late Friday with a restructure of WR Antonio Brown’s contract. Ed Bouchette of the PPG reported that the Steelers got under the salary cap by turning a portion of Brown’s 2014 base salary into a signing bonus, which will then be prorated and spread out over the remaining years of his contract. Brown is under contract with the Steelers through 2017. It’s uncertain if the Steelers are done for the time being with their restructures and whatnot considering that as of tomorrow afternoon they can start negotiations with their in-house free agents. I’d say they’re not going to stop at Brown’s restructure.
