Steelers season goes all year long so whether we’re breaking down free agency signings, predicting the possible draft choices, or looking around for mentions of your Black & Gold we’ve got you covered. Here’s what’s being said about your Pittsburgh Steelers around the block.

Ed Bouchette on “The Steelers Way”

Ed Bouchette of the PPG broke down the “Steelers Way” in his latest column by drawing on the movements of the Washington Redskins to illustrate his points. While I agree with Ed on the points where he basically says that Washington’s owner Dan Snyder owns the team more like a fan than an experienced NFL owner in that he throws a ton of money out to grab free agents, makes hasty coaching moves, and providing zero continuity to his team. Then Ed gets a bit preachy when it comes to the Redskins decision to sign former Eagles WR DeSean Jackson, bringing up the alleged gang ties and furthering the speculations that have zero foundations so far. He rounds it up by breaking down the free agency period so far for the Steelers, explaining how they’ve improved in some areas such as safety and running back but haven’t exactly improved in others like receiving and defensive line. Ed also reminds us of one very important thing, the Steelers aren’t done yet.

Celebrating the Steelers 1974 Draft

The Steelers are celebrating the 40th anniversary of the most successful draft class in franchise history, the 1974 draft. In the 1974 NFL Draft, 5 future Hall of Famers were selected; the Steelers picked 4 of them. The Steelers will spend the next few Mondays recalling the 1974 draft in celebration of the 40th anniversary.

5 potential Steelers draft picks

Alan Robinson of the Trib gives us 5 players to look out for as we impatiently count down the days until May 8th when the NFL Draft begins. He tells Steeler Nation to watch out for:

  • Mike Evans (WR, Texas A&M)
  • Darqueze Dennard (CB, Michigan State)
  • Louis Nix (DL, Notre Dame)
  • Justin Gilbert (CB, Oklahoma State)
  • Kelvin Benjamin (WR, Florida State)

What are your thoughts Steeler Nation? What do you think of “The Steeler Way”? Do you have memories of the 1974 Steelers Draft? Who would you add to the list of players to watch for on draft day as potential Steelers picks?
