Steelers season goes all year long so whether we’re breaking down free agency signings, predicting the possible draft choices, or looking around for mentions of your Black & Gold we’ve got you covered. Here’s what’s being said about your Pittsburgh Steelers around the block.
Scott Brown’s Steelers Mail Bag
ESPN’s Scott Brown takes to Twitter each week to field Steelers-related questions from fans. This week he answered questions from whether or not he thought Maurkice Pouncey’s price would be too high for Pittsburgh thanks to Alex Mack’s deal in Cleveland to the chances the Steelers will eventually re-sign Brett Keisel to a one-year deal. Brown thinks that the Steelers should take the chance to sign Pouncey to a long-term deal in spite of the injury concerns. He also thinks there’s a chance that the Steelers ink Keisel to a deal after June 1st when they get more salary cap room. Brown also suggests the Steelers could draft two linemen next month.
Blount excited to get started with the Steelers
Teresa Varley reports that LeGarrette Blount is getting after it as one of the many players taking part in the Phase One offseason workout program. He took part in the strength and conditioning part of the workouts. He stated that he was attracted to the Steelers’ historical physical-style running game and that’s why he thinks he’d be a good fit in Pittsburgh.
“I like how they play. I like the division. I like that they have a tough, hard-nosed running style. From looking at hold film with (Jerome) Bettis and Willie Parker, I know how they won the Super Bowl and they are trying to get back to that and I want to be a part of it.” – LeGarrette Blount
NFL Draft is getting closer
If the draft would have taken place when it normally does, we’d be talking about the outcome by now. Instead, we still have just less than two weeks to wait.
