With the 17th pick in the 2014 NFL draft, the Baltimore Ravens have selected C.J. Mosley, Linebacker from the University of Alabama. Mosley was the player I predicted the Pittsburgh Steelers would take at pick 15 before they instead chose another linebacker, Ryan Shazier from Ohio St. Mosley is an intelligent, instinctual football player with four years of starting experience and was part of three BCS National Championship teams.
After winning the Super Bowl following the 2012 season, the Ravens fell off in 2013 and finished with an 8-8 record. Mosley should help fill the gap left by Ray Lewis when he retired as an intelligent, tough football player. He adds to the list of Crimson Tide players that, University of Alabama alum Ozzie Newsome (Ravens’ General Manager) has taken in the first round in recent years including Terrance Cody and Courtney Upshaw.
