With the 24th pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the Cincinnati Bengals select Darqueze Dennard, cornerback from Michigan State University. Dennard was projected to go to the Pittsburgh Steelers at pick number 15 by many draft experts. He is a bigger, more physical cornerback that is becoming all the rage in today’s NFL after recent success of teams like the Seattle Seahawks with their Legion of Boom.
After being one-and-done in the playoffs for the second straight year in 2013, the Cincinnati Bengals add a weapon to their defense to help stop the pass happy offenses of the NFL. While Dennard is big and physical, a small speedy receiver like Antonio Brown should have no problems putting the moves on him as he does so successfully in most situations.
