Steelers offensive identity

Mike Prisuta explains that during the Steelers OTA’s everything was covered from the no-huddle to the running game for the offensive unit. What remains unclear as the Steelers will now head into mandatory minicamp next week is what exactly the identity of this years’ Steelers offense will be. There are plenty of new faces, plenty of players returning from injuries, and even new additions to the coaching staff. Will the Steelers offense be a “smashmouth” offense with the running game of Bell and Blount or will it be an up-tempo offense running the no-huddle all the time? As far as quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger is concerned; he just wants whatever offense will produce the best results.

"“For me, right now, I’d like to say we’ll be a fast, high-scoring offense. That’s running the ball, that’s throwing the ball, whatever it is. But I want us to be fast and I want us to put a lot of points on the board.” – Ben Roethlisberger"

Ben has high praise for Shazier

Ben Roethlisberger called in to a local radio show to discuss OTA’s and his upcoming kids football camp. During the interview, he took the time to praise the rookies in OTA’s, particularly Ryan Shazier in which he praised not only his speed on the field, but also his intelligence and ability to have picked up so much of the playbook already. He even hinted that Shazier could be calling the defense on the field before long. You can listen to the podcast of Roethlisberger’s interview right here.

Ben knows baseball

Ben Roethlisberger took in a Pirates game on Thursday, and got to participate in batting practice as well.
