Steelers season goes all year long so whether we’re previewing training camp, predicting roster moves, or looking around for mentions of your Black & Gold we’ve got you covered. Here’s what’s being said about your Pittsburgh Steelers around the block.

Brandon Flowers not planning a trip to Pittsburgh

ESPN’s Scott Brown is reporting that while newly available free agent cornerback Brandon Flowers left San Diego without a contract, he doesn’t have any concrete plans to arrive in Pittsburgh immediately. Flowers has 17 career interceptions with the Kansas City Chiefs and was released earlier this month to save salary cap room. Per Brown and ESPN Stats & Information, the Steelers have $5.856 million in salary cap space now that all the draft picks are signed. Could be interesting to see if they make a play to add the veteran cornerback.

O-line in line

Ed Bouchette caught up with some of the Steelers offensive line before the team broke for the summer and, according to Ramon Foster, the motto of the group is a pretty simple one.

"“Stay consistent; keep our heads down and work like we’re in last place.” – Ramon Foster"

That’s pretty easy to do considering that the team hasn’t been in first place for quite a while, and while the offensive line looks to be one of the strengths of the team this season, they’re normally blamed for everything. Last year Ben Roethlisberger started the season getting sacked at an alarming rate and there are more people than just him and his wife hoping that the offensive line of 2014 plays a lot like the 2013 offensive line towards the end of the season. A healthy Maurkice Pouncey and newly hired Mike Munchak have the Steelers feeling pretty confident about the offensive line this season.

Jarvis Jones working with Joey Porter

Jarvis Jones has been working closely so far with Defensive Assistant Coach Joey Porter on how to increase his sack numbers from last season. Shouldn’t be hard to do, just needs one more to increase on account of he only got one sack last year total.
