Grateful Larry Foote

Larry Foote considers Pittsburgh a home, even after being released by the team this offseason and signing with the Arizona Cardinals. According to ESPN’s Scott Brown, he only has good things to say about the city, and the organization. While he wasn’t exactly stoked his number was given to Steelers first-round draft pick Ryan Shazier, he thinks it was a good draft choice made by the team.

"“I joked with the coaches, ‘Y’all got rid of the old [car] for a new Ferrari.’ He’s surrounded by some good coaches so I think he’ll be a good one. If he can get it upstairs and have that toughness I’m quite sure he’s going to be a player in the league for a long time.” – Larry Foote"

Will Allen pays it forward

As Teresa Varley explains, Steelers safety Will Allen is a firm believer in paying it forward. From things like providing kids who attend his football camp in Columbus, Ohio with cleats if they don’t have them to paying off strangers’ layaway orders of back-to-school supplies at K-Mart. Allen believes he’s just doing his part to help out the community after he feels grateful for the help he received along his way to have a career in the NFL.

Bold predictions

Willie McGinest of the NFL Network made his bold NFL Week 1 prediction that Johnny Manziel will start for the Browns and Cleveland will beat the Steelers in Pittsburgh for the first time since 2003.
