All-AFC North Division Team Selected: Defense

The editors of FanSided are collaborating to form a an All-Division tournament between all the divisions in the NFL.  The editors of Nice Pick Cowher, Ebony Bird, Dawg Pound Daily, and Stripe Hype have come to together and selected an all-division squad for the AFC North.  We continue and wrap up the short series by presenting the All-AFC North Division Defense.

This voting was a bit more split in certain areas – specifically the DE, CB, and S positions.  In these three cases, there were three different names presented with at least one of those three names having two votes.  The consensus came when a few editors (including myself) decided to swing their vote to the player with the two votes – recognizing that some of those positions have a great depth of talented players throughout the division.

The Steelers have a more solid representation with this list than they did over on the offensive side of the ball.  Much of this might have to do with the most recent and impressive successes from guys like Cam Heyward and Jason Worilds.  Heyward became a beast in the second half of last season after a slow start to his career.  Jason Worilds was much in the same way over at outside linebacker.  Without having to split time with anyone, Worilds was involved in the most snaps in a single season of his career and accounted for eight sacks in 2013.  Lawrence Timmons was a majority vote getter and rightfully so.  Timmons is one of the best ILB in the division next to Vontaze Burfict who’s had to very solid seasons to start his career.

Shockingly, Troy Polamalu was not a unanimous decision, but we’ll forgive the editor from the Ravens site Ebony Bird this time around.  The only unanimous vote getter (much to my chagrin) was Terrell Suggs.  For as much loathing as there is for T-Sizzle inside of Steeler Nation, he is a very good linebacker.

Some readers had rather strong opinions with the offense.  How do yinz feel about this All Division list?
