NFL’s All-Time Memorable Plays

The Pittsburgh Steelers are facing the San Francisco 49ers in the final. The final round of voting on ESPN’s NFL’s All-Time Most Memorable Plays has come down to a battle between Joe Montana hitting Dwight Clark for a touchdown to win the 1981 NFC Championship Game, otherwise known as “The Catch” and Franco Harris scooping up the football out of nowhere after a deflected pass to score a touchdown and earn the Steelers their first playoff victory in the 1972 AFC Divisional Game, also known as “The Immaculate Reception”. Place your vote here and make sure the rightful most memorable play wins!

Projecting Steelers roster

ESPN’s Scott Brown is projecting the Steelers 53-man roster a week before the players check into the dorms at Saint Vincent. The most noteworthy addition he has is he’s projecting Brett Keisel to make the roster as one of seven defensive linemen. He projects Al Lapuaho to be a surprise addition and 6th-roud draft pick Daniel McCullers getting a year on the practice squad.

3 Things to watch

Marc Sessler of Around the League gave a preview of three things for each team in the AFC North to pay attention to heading into training camps. For the Steelers he has decided that the three most noteworthy position groups to focus on in camp will be the linebackers, with the addition of Ryan Shazier, whom he’s calling a “legitimate Defensive Rookie of the Year candidate”. He also says to look out for the division of the workload amongst the running backs to see how much LeGarrette Blount will be involved and how Dri Archer will fit in. Among those two groups is one I think we’re all going to be paying attention to and that’s the wide receivers. It will be interesting to see who shines and who is left out on roster cut-down day.
