The Steelers first game of the preseason will face a Giants squad that made their way past the Bills in their first preseason game.  It would be silly to say the Steelers are looking to avenge a preseason loss to the Giants from last year, but they probably wouldn’t mind sticking it to them this time around.

This is probably one of the more anticipated preseason games for the Steelers in quite some time.  For fans, all eyes will be on the offensive line and a few key defensemen in the earlier parts of the game.  Will the offensive line be able to show signs of gelling and using the zone scheme well?  Will Ryan Shazier be able to continue his impressive rookie camp campaign with some good plays and hard hits while taking snaps on the first team defense?  Will Ben be able to show that he’s put in solid quality time with some of his younger receivers by connecting with them early?

All will soon unfold on Saturday evening.  My hope? – a solid showing by the vets, glimpses of NFL level plays by the younger guys, and everyone getting away from the Jersey shore unscathed by injury.

Be sure to tune in if you can.  And, be sure to check back here for post game analysis and any other developments as training camp and the march to Week 1 continues.
