Steelers Preview

Andy Benoit from the MMQB previewed the 2014 Pittsburgh Steelers and suggests that they’re primed for a return to the playoffs. The conclusions he came to included that Ben Roethlisberger is a highly underrated quarterback nationally, that the offense will be more balanced this season and the defense, while infused with youth in the front seven but not in the secondary will all contribute to the Steelers return to the post season.

1st preseason game is useless

Former Steelers punter now sports talk radio host Josh Miller contributed to Behind The Steel Curtain to give Steeler Nation a reminder of what really matters when it comes to August football. Basically, he’s saying that the first preseason game is useless, there’s no reason for anyone to be up in arms about the 73-yard touchdown run given up by the Steelers defense or the fact that Ben Roethlisberger played only one series. The fact that the team came out of that game with no major injuries is a victory and you move on and the coaching staff will continue to evaluate the players from there. Also apparently punters get a lot of fishing done during training camp in Latrobe. Good to know.

Steelers roommate confidential
