Tomlin on win over Buffalo

Steelers Coach Mike Tomlin saw some positives and negatives in the Steelers first preseason win since Aug. 30, 2012, particularly with the first team offense. As he explains, the objective for that unit for this game was to get some no-huddle work in and, from that standpoint, it was a success. Tomlin was pleased with what he saw out of Ben Roethlisberger and the no-huddle.

"“I did, I did. I was an appropriate time to work on it. Last week we were in New York and we wanted to come out and scavenge the run with that group and had some nice runs. But we wanted to get Ben some quality work and particularly the no-huddle and the comforts of Heinz Field tonight and they did a nice job executing that as well.” – Mike Tomlin"

with Steelers rookie Ryan Shazier after his electrifying performance. Shazier finished the night of his first official NFL preseason game with nine tackles, two special teams tackles and an interception that surely got all of Steeler Nation excited for what else this kid can do.

No OT in preseason

The Steelers win last night was a last-minute one as the game was tied 16-16 with :02 left on the clock. Thankfully, a Shaun Suisham field goal prevented the dreaded preseason overtime. No one wants preseason overtime.
