Steelers Morning Huddle 8/21/14

Tonight is the Steelers third preseason game.  They will be taking on the dreaded Eagles in, what in my opinion, is the worst city in the world.  Here are a few articles for you to read while you’re waiting for the game to start.

Le’Veon Bell and LeGarrette Blount Arrested

According to Pro Football Talk the Steelers top two running backs were arrested today on charges of possession of marijuana.  Bell was also charged with driving under the influence.  According to Detective Brian Kohlhepp of the Ross PD, the duo was pulled over by a Ross Township policeman yesterday afternoon after an officer on a motorcycle smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the car.  According to the police there was also an unidentified woman in the car with them.  All three admitted that the marijuana belonged to all of them.  It’s unlikely that Bell or Blount will get a suspension from the league, but they are very likely to receive discipline from within the organization.

Making the Call On Steelers Hardest Cuts

Yesterday on Bleacher Report, Curt Popejoy posted an article that outlined who would be the hardest remaining cuts on the Steelers have to make.  The players listed are Jordan Dangerfield, Brian Arnfelt, Derek Moye, Landry Jones, and Mike Adams.  Right off the bat, I only agree with 3/5 of this list.  Derek Moye and Landry Jones are the two who I don’t think it will be that difficult to cut.  Jordan Dangerfield, Brian Arnfelt, and Mike Adams would be significantly harder to cut.  Mostly because I wouldn’t cut them.  Mike Adams should definitely make the roster.  Brian Arnfelt and Jordan Dangerfield are both on the bubble, but I would keep both of them.  Arnfelt should have no problem beating out Daniel McCullers for the final defensive line spot and Will Allen is Dangerfield’s competition for the final safety spot.
