Kaboly’s Steelers roster

The Trib’s Mark Kaboly projected the Steelers roster and practice squad. The team has until 4pm ET today to get the roster down to 53 and they can start signing up to 10 players to the practice squad on Aug. 31st. Kaboly doesn’t have too many surprises in his projections except for that he’s predicting LB Chris Carter and safety Will Allen are to be two of the 22 players to be cut today.

Steelers might be done with contracts

ESPN’s Scott Brown is suggesting that the Steelers won’t be inking any new contract extensions from now until the regular season kicks off on Sept. 7th. The team extended Maurkice Pouncey, Marcus Gilbert and Shaun Suisham this spring but Jason Worilds and Cortez Allen are still without long-term deals. We all know the Steelers don’t negotiate contracts once the regular season begins. I, for one, don’t mind this at all considering each of them haven’t really put together entire strong seasons before.

Steelers roster moves

Prior to the major roster cuts the Steelers announced late Friday afternoon that they’ve placed rookie linebacker Jordan Zumwalt on the team’s Reserve/Injured List. Along with the free roster spot for the time being the team claimed cornerback B.W. Webb off of waivers.
