Moats ready for Renegade

Teresa Varley caught up with the Steelers who will be playing in their first game as a Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday to gage their excitement level about playing in Heinz Field in front of Steeler Nation. Linebacker Arthur Moats is ready to hear some Renegade.

"“I am ecstatic about it. Before I singed here I knew about the Steelers, playing in their stadium, Heinz Field is crazy. To be playing for the Steelers in a regular season game, I am definitely excited about it. I am going to have family in town and it’s going to be a great experience. The stadium definitely gets loud. When you are the visiting team it gets tough to hear out there. The fact that these fans are on our side, have our back, it’s going to be great. I am also excited to hear ‘Renegade’ played when the defense is on the field and see the video. I have been hearing the hype about it, so I’m ready to get it.” – Arthur Moats"

And just for funzies…

Pettine wants Browns’ history against Pittsburgh to be history

Long ago the Steelers and Browns were an actual rivalry. There was a competition level and the Browns actually had a shot at winning some games every now and then. Then the team packed up, moved to Baltimore, and started wearing purple. Since then, the Browns and Steelers haven’t been much actual rivals more than the Browns have been good for at least two victories on the Steelers schedule each season. Since rejoining the league in 1999 the Browns are 5-26 against the Steelers. As Josh Alper of PFT explains, Cleveland’s coach Mike Pettine is hoping those days are behind them. Pettine is trying to convince this year’s Browns that those stats have nothing to do with them and they can put that in their “rearview mirror”.  That’s a good locker room speech. “Hey guys, those guys that have sucked every year for the past fifteen years here have nothing to do with us; we can totally not suck if we don’t want to! Now let’s go get’em!”

Rodney Harrison beats Hines Ward in 40 race

The Sunday Night Football crew had some fun in before the kickoff of the NFL season on Thursday night. Hines also made some noise when he stated that Seahawks CB Richard Sherman wasn’t the best cornerback on his own team. Shots fired.
