Pittsburgh Steelers Week 2 Winners and Losers

facebooktwitterreddit

Absolutely embarrassing outing for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Who wants to watch them anymore? Winners and losers…everyone looked like losers tonight but when you look real hard you were able to find a few winners.

Winners

Brad Wing

Considering the Steelers were punting a lot, we got to see a lot of Brad Wing on Thursday night. He had 4 punts for a 45.8 average and even had a special teams tackle. One of the question marks going into the season (we thought) is having a nice rookie season so far. The punting duties seems to be in good hands so far.

Le’Veon Bell

Bell seemed like the only offensive player alive at times. He consistently is the playmaker and is really showing maturity in his second season and after his DUI incident. Bell looks to be future superstar in the league, and if he keeps it up he will be considered one here soon. He was held for under 100 yards this game, but his impact is much greater.

Losers

Marcus Gilbert

Gilbert for the second straight week struggled. He gave up two sacks and has looked overmatched against Elvis Dummervil. He’s starting to make the Steelers question themselves on the contract extension they gave him.

Justin Brown

Justin Brown had a solid first outing last week, but things were much different in his second full game of action. He had a fumble in the first drive of the game and from there things just went downhill. Brown also had a drop in the game, however it was a a terrible pass by Ben, but still catchable.

Cortez Allen

Another player who received a contract extension this year, Allen didn’t have his best outing this year. He had a pass interference call in the first quarter and a personal foul, both against Steve Smith. Smith consistently got separation from Allen and ‘iced’ him Thursday night.

Mike Mitchell

Too many personal fouls, inexcusable. Mitchell hasn’t made the best first impression so far.

The Steelers have a long way to go, but tomorrow is a new day and next week is a new week. Let me know what you think about the article by leaving a comment.
