Jerome Bettis on Bell, Jones Return, Heinz Could Host Bills vs. Jets

Bettis on Bell
Teresa Varley caught up with HOF semifinalist Jerome Bettis and got his thoughts on Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell. Bettis was very high on Bell, complimenting on how he can bring stability to the offense with his ability to run the ball and receive, making him a threat to opposing defenses. Bettis explained that it would be hard for defenses to account for Bell because of his many playmaking abilities.
"“He especially wreaks havoc on defensive coordinators because of his ability to catch the football as well as run the football. So many times we look at running the football, but a running back that has the ability to catch the ball in the backfield puts a tremendous amount of pressure on a defense because now you have to have linebackers who are not only physical enough to stop the run, but they also have to be agile enough to stay with him in pass coverage if he goes out on a route. That is where he creates separation from just about every defender in the NFL because nobody can stay with him one-on-one.” – Jerome Bettis"
Jarvis Jones potential 2014 return
Second year outside linebacker Jarvis Jones is still on the injured reserve/designated to return list, and according to ESPN’s Scott Brown, does plan on returning this season. The Steelers’ late bye week may be just what some of the injured starters on defense such as Jones need to aid in their recuperation to get back out on the field. Jones dislocated his wrist in the Week 3 37-19 win at Carolina. Jones has been working out since getting his cast off but has not yet been activated by the team.
Pittsburgh a potential host for moved Bills vs. Jets game
Adam Schefter of ESPN is reporting that Heinz Field could be looking at hosting the Buffalo Bills and New York Jets as the NFL is looking to relocate the game while Buffalo continues to be buried in snow. The area has gotten over six feet of snow the past few days and there is a travel ban preventing even the players from leaving their homes to go to the practice facilities. The game is not expected to be played on Sunday afternoon as originally scheduled because the area just can’t afford to spare the emergency personnel away from the areas of greatest need in order to clear the stadium out to host the game. The game is likely to be moved to either Monday or Tuesday night and other possible sites are Detroit and Washington D.C. The NFL is expected to decide by Friday afternoon.
