Vote for Pouncey

Actually, you should vote for all of your Steelers for the Pro Bowl. Ballots are open now and you can vote as many times as you like. The format again for this year’s Pro Bowl is the “Fantasy Teams” with HOFer’s Michael Irvin and Cris Carter serving the captains. Also this year the Pro Bowl will be held in Arizona instead of Hawaii.  Vote right here.

D-Line Assessment Mike Prisuta caught up with Steelers defensive line coach John Mitchell about where he thinks the line is at this point in the season with five games left to be played. The Steelers run defense has improved slightly since the start of the season. They allowed rushing yards of 100+ four times in their first seven games but have only allowed one 100+ rushing performance in the last four. They rank 10th in the NFL in run defense, averaging an allowed 102.2 yards per game. Mitchell is impressed with the play, but acknowledges the need for improvement down the stretch.

"“I’m really pleased where we are. We’ve been playing a lot of guys. Stephon Tuitt’s been taking a couple of snaps. Monday night at Tennessee we had Daniel McCullers; he played quite a few snaps. We just gotta get better. The things that make you better are the little things, keeping your pad level down, using your hands, getting off blocks and running to the ball, and that’s what we stressed at Wednesday’s practice, and that’s what we’re going to stress the rest of the season.” – John Mitchell"

Brand new field The Steelers will return to action on Sunday, Nov. 30th at home against the New Orleans Saints. They’ll be playing on an entirely new surface for that game.
