The Pittsburgh Steelers and Steeler Nation are more than likely getting ready for a day traditionally filled with food and football.  The Steelers suited up last season when they lost on Thanksgiving night to the Baltimore Ravens.  This year, they will continue to rest through their bye week and prep for the Saints on Sunday at Heinz Field.

We have a lot of fun here on NPC throughout the year.  We gripe, we criticize, we are hopeful, we are joyful, and ever ever faithful to our beloved Steelers.  Thanksgiving is a time to reflect upon what we are thankful for in this life and on this earth.  I am thankful for so many things that make writing on this site possible.  It has given me the opportunities to study film, read up on everything and anything that is Steelers football, and helped deepen my fandom in ways I never thought possible.

And, while I am thankful for football and this website as a forum to talk about the Steelers, there are far more important things in this world to be thankful for.  Family, love, friends, freedom, shelter, food.  The list goes on.  I hope that all of you out there have an opportunity today to think about and reflect upon what it is that you are truly thankful for – what it is that helps shape who you are as a human being.  There is much that troubles this world and our global society.  So between all the eating, parades, the football, the family arguments, take today to reflect on what you can do to make it better, so that perhaps someone is thanking you for making a difference – either this time next year or throughout.

From myself and all of us here on NPC, a very happy Thanksgiving to all of you.  We are so grateful for your readership and your passion that is the glue of Steeler Nation.  Be good to each other.  Have a great day.
