Jarvis Jones Return Possible

Steelers OLB Jarvis Jones has been practicing and could be activated to the roster this week per ESPN’s Scott Brown. Steelers coach Mike Tomlin updated the injury statuses in his weekly presser and introduced the idea of the Steelers getting both Jones and rookie LB Ryan Shazier back to action this week. This could be a welcomed sight as the Steelers had little to no pass rush against the Saints and will need to get after Andy Dalton this Sunday in Cincinnati if they hope to escape with a win.

Offense is slumping

Bob Labriola reminds us how good the Steelers offense was performing just about a month ago. Since then, the Steelers offense has been on a decline. In the three game stretch where the team defeated Houston, Indianapolis and Baltimore at home the offense scored 124 points, Ben Roethlisberger threw for 14 touchdowns and no interceptions and was a legitimate NFL MVP candidate. In the three games that followed, the Steelers offense has scored 72 points; Ben has thrown four touchdowns and five interceptions. Yikes.

Ben disappointed in himself

Ben Roethlisberger joined 93.7 The Fan in his usual Tuesday morning spot and discussed his disappointment in his play from Sunday’s loss to the Saints. Before the game he had categorized it as a “must win” and called on everyone from rookies to veterans to give their very best. Unfortunately, he was off the mark for most of the game and resulted in some turnovers and lack of production on the offense while the defense was unable to hold off Drew Brees and the Saints’ offense. He described his disappointment in his own performance.

"“Disappointment and disbelief in myself that I just didn’t play well and for no apparent rhyme or reason. I was disappointed that I didn’t make all the throws that I wanted to make and give our guys chances to make plays. You gotta win the home games. I mean how important that game was to us, I just felt like I let so many people down and that was probably the hardest thing after the game.” – Ben Roethlisberger"
