NPC’s Week 15 NFL Picks

facebooktwitterreddit

The last few weeks of the 2014 NFL season are upon us and while the weather is getting considerably colder the playoff races are heating up. The parity in the NFL this season has been well documented but this is really where the strong teams will separate themselves from the pack. This is where the teams will want to get or stay on that all-important “hot streak” before the playoffs begin.

More from Still Curtain

Here at Nice Pick Cowher we are not only a bunch of nerds who follow the Pittsburgh Steelers tirelessly but we are also a bunch of nerds who follow the NFL tirelessly. Therefore we put our money (or maybe just our pride) where our mouths are and make picks on every NFL game each week. We don’t mess around with point spreads or anything like that. Just straight up picks.

For some reason the Thursday Night Football ads seem like they’re begging for people to watch them at this point in the season. They should have never moved from nationally televised games. If you’re going to force these Thursday night games down everyone’s throats, just keep them on the same network the entire season for crying out loud. The Cardinals at Rams could very well turn out to be a very tightly-contested and entertaining game, but it seems like the NFL Network is begging me to watch it and that’s just depressing this time of year. There are more divisional matchups this weekend than there are non-divisional or non-conference ones so that should make for a fun weekend of football.

The Steelers will travel to Atlanta to take on yet another NFC South team with a losing record. The division-Falcons are 5-8 and are coming off of a Monday night loss to Green Bay where Julio Jones still managed to rack up 259 receiving yards. Will it be an offensive shootout or can the Steelers defense actually stop Matt Ryan from connecting with Jones or anyone else for more “chunk plays” they can’t help but keep giving up? It should also be interesting to see how well Le’Veon Bell can perform on the turf in a dome. If he can accumulate 200+ yards from scrimmage in three consecutive outdoor games, he could potentially blow the roof off of the Georgia Dome.

Levi and Jason were your winners of Week 14. Justin has stretched his overall lead out to three games and there’s not much more time left for me to catch up and destroy him and the rest of these chumps. Feel free to join us in making picks of your own in the comments section, or take the opportunity to heckle and criticize our predictions if that’s your deal.
