If this stadium’s a rockin…

It was pretty clear early on that Steeler Nation made their presence known in Atlanta last week when the Steelers took on the Falcons on the road. This weekend, Teresa Varley explains, Steelers players are anxious to see even more enthusiasm from the home fans. The Steelers get to close out their season by playing their final two games at home, and not just any games, both games have direct playoff implications even though Steelers fans need no extra motivation to get up for their Black & Gold.

Cornerback William Gay is anxious to see a playoff-like atmosphere on the field and in the stands at Heinz Field on Sunday.

"“We have the best fans in the nation. You want to be in that atmosphere. We are glad to be back in Pittsburgh for two weeks. We have two great opponents coming in here. We just have to find a way to win. We just need the Terrible Towels going crazy. Hopefully we make them wave their arms all game. I need it to be rocking. Sometimes you see Heinz Field kind of shaking and that’s what we need this week.” – William Gay"

Mr. Personality

Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell has been justifiably recognized nationally this year for his incredible abilities. But, as ESPN’s Scott Brown points out, one of the biggest contributors to Bell’s success has been the quality play from the offensive line, particularly that of pulling guard David DeCastro. He’s been so quiet and reserved since being drafted that Tomlin nicknamed him, “Mr. Personality.”

DeCastro started his career off with the Pittsburgh Steelers rather rocky by being injured for the majority of his rookie year and then contributing to the season-ending injury of Maurkice Pouncey in the first game of last season. This year he’s undoubtedly coming into his own and leading the way for the AFC’s leading rusher.

Rising Star

Sports Illustrated has named Steelers rookie WR Martavis Bryant a Rising Star. Bryant has played in eight games so far in his rookie season and has twenty four receptions for 484 yards and seven touchdowns, including a 94-yard beauty from Ben Roethlisberger in the Cincinnati game.
